“You’ve been a very bad girl. A very very bad girl Gaga.” – Beyonce Telephone 4:46 in to video

Hey guys.

I could go on about my horrible blogging but the campy acting in the above video is just about all I can muster in the way of admonishment so… work with me.

Things have been happening.. all over the place. First off, I should announce. We are expecting our third child this late summer. We are excited. Hoping for a boy, and that’s has been the primary reason I haven’t been posting. I suck at keeping secrets. And every time I got ready to post I wanted to talk about this baby, and how I was feeling about it, and all the STUFF that goes along with that, but I also wanted to wait until we hit our 2nd trimester. I almost wanted to wait until we knew boy or girl but I really wanted to get back to blogging so that just had to wait.

I may actually start a blog for that particular stuff but I think I may keep the light blend of personal and professional stuff going here for a little while and see how that goes.

I am entertaining the idea of a permanent suite-mate here at the studio, Cammy’s 5 going on 16, Bri is excited about the baby. I am expanding out product offerings for clients. We are preparing for when I have the baby by setting up a little home office for me so I can stay on top of things from home.

I’ve got posts coming up including spring pics from some great kiddos – including my own – here is one of my girls after helping me set up…

Thanks for being patient with me and to all of you who are sending referrals my way – I see you I love you for the faith you show when you tell people to use me. It is not a responsibility I take lightly.Thank you. So much.

Becky and Kenny – St. Louis Wedding Photographer

Photographers are a solitary group. Its a bit of a lonesome job, and that is one of my least favorite things about photography as a self-employment option. I like office life for the most part. At least at my favorite office I loved my co-workers and would have moved heaven and earth for them (Hi AT&T Kirkwood office!) I like co workers and inner office gossip and office parties and all that good jazz, and photographers for hte most part aren’t really into the camaraderie or as I have found, a lot of them have trust issues. And I get that. Photography can be dog eat dog. But I’ve been lucky I have found a few photographers who feel like I do about working together and making each other better. I call my self truly one of the lucky one as I got to 2nd shoot last season for UnderGrace Photography. I have not figured out how to make her better but I do send tons of chocolate when the occasion calls for it. But she let me tag along and shoot a wedding with her and I learned so much from the experience and I really hope to get the opportunity to shoot with her again, after she gets back from maternity leave (Welcome Henry!!) Any who here are a few from the day.

This grooms family restored a pick-up and each of the sons drive it to their wedding. I LOVE pick ups especially classic ones so I could shot with that all day.

Becky and Ken were the sweetest couple ever, to see more of this wedding head over to Undergrace’s blog. Also I had a blast manning the photobooth, you can take a look at some of the results over there as well – click here. it was really AWESOME time. Thank you SO much Michelle for teaching me and being so open. You are awesome.

Happy New Year!

It is the new year, I am home from my first wedding of 2010, and I wanted to tell you all – thank you.

2009 has not been with out its faults; I’ve made missteps, faltered as I figure out how to be the photographer I want to be and do the things I want to do and produce the work I want to produce. It has not been an easy year by any means. I want to say a sincere thank you to the clients who have stuck it out with me as I have learned. I know my new-ness to some things hasn’t always made it the easiest walk but I love that you are willing to go with me and YOU are by far my most valued business piece. This has been a year of birth and at times that is what it has felt like to me, giving birth to a third child.

I try not to make resolutions but I personally believe goals are dreams with a deadline so I am working on making things smoother for you, as my clients. Working on communicating my goals as a photographer to those of you who want to use my services so we can make sure we are the right fit. There is nothing worse than taking awesome pictures that you can’t bring home, or having to leave some that your really really loved. I hate that part of my job, and I want to find ways to keep it from happening when it can be avoided.

This upcoming year I am letting go of the reins, accepting what comes and maximizing what I already have. I have so much. My husband who I adore, my kids who keeps me grounded and honest, my dog who slobbers, and our cat, who has cancer but is still the same great cat, and hopefully she’ll do well in treatment.

My husband who I don’t say thank you to enough, who I drive insane with my nerves, and my not doing the dishes, and my completely long list of reason why he should probably divorce and run at this point, he is the reason I keep pushing. He’s sitting across from me right now folding laundry I should be folding we are watching football highlights and trying to keep Bri from being scared of the dog. Shes scared of everything lately – except the cat. She loves the cat. And all I want is to right now be cuddling with sleeping children in the other room.

Alas I can dream.

this is a really short post, Its funny cause I’ve been trying to write this thing for days – alas I have started some others as well so not to fear I will be updating way more often..
