Only cause its Friday

So this morning, I woke up early and made waffles and bacon for breakfast. Cammy was thrilled. She helped me stir the batter and brush the oil on my waffle iron. She poured her own pineapple juice. We sat down the three of us while Bri was still sleeping and ate breakfast.  It was nice - and the whole reason why I decided to wake up early. I know now why June Cleaver was up so damn early every morning

Seriously, Talking really…

Okay so that first time I didn’t get hte TEXT in the POST, silly me!!!

here goes!

So my sister lives like ten minutes from an IKEA….

LUCKY!!!

So maybe moving to Philly wasn’t that bad. I mean seriously – its IKEA! Anyway I didn’t get to see the city. The best part of Philly is my new niece and I got to see her and that was more than enough. Next time though I need to find a cheesesteak, and putt around maybe take a walk past the Hidden Beach offices.

So I’ve been home for a few days.

And I’m picking my groove back up. Have to keep my liquid intake up

Ah Internets, what can I tell you about how full the last seven days have been?
Last Thursday was a first for my immediate family, it was the first Thanksgiving that my mom or Grandmother didn’t host. It was held at my great Aunts house. And between plates of soul food ( I still can’t do Chitterlings) i watched my mom and Aunt do

like I needed to fall in love again

My Beautiful Girls

My Girls this week

I never knew they would be so cool. My kids that is.
Gabrielle is an angel, and apprently she learned it from Cammy. She watches Cammy like a hawk, she loves for Cammy to sing to her, and play with her and Cammy is happy to oblige. I have much to be thankful for this year.

Today my husband and I decided to buy this Lauryn Hill piece by one of my personal favorite artists C’babi Bayoc. Like for really, for real, I’ve been DROOLING over this peice for upwards of four or five years. It hung at a poetry reading I went to years ago and I wanted it so bad. C’babi and I are friends, well more precisely - his wife and I are friends. We have very similar interests including baking, and I get to count C’babi as a friend via spouse. Actually I would count him as just my friend. He’s a great guy. But it took him living in my neighborhood before I could shake the fan girl thing one gets when they LOVE someones work. It was not quite the Beatles up in here, but it was dang on close. I’ve not put art on my walls cause I can’t quite afford his work. And I want his work on my walls, or my own work on my walls. Sue me.

Additional posts coming eventually, but I gotta cook, na dI gotta work friday so - don’t exactly hold your breath - unless its slow at work Friday.

Some ‘Kids’ getting it DONE

Okay this was me in high schoool - seriously - for three hours everyday after school I danced in my basement - and I was honestly very very good at it. I am - not - anymore. But I am still a dance lover - and am not surprised that Cammy is too.

Not The Daily Show, With Not John Stewart

1. This is why I love the daily show -
2.This is why I support the writers strike and if the writers said they wanted the watching public to stop watching TV all together I would probably just stop all together. mostly. alot. Okay I would probably fail just cause we don’t hvae a stereo but I would REALLY REALLY try hard.

that is all.

hot wax

I decided to post this poem next because I saw a poem by a marine - and it is not often a poet actually gets my respect and actually deserves it - (have you been to your local open mic?)
he did - his poem is right here

*disclaimer I wrote this poem using situations as seen in the first days of the attack - names were taken from the news clips of people looking for their relatives, what they knew at the time. All of my friends in New York were not accounted for at this time. i lost no direct friends. I truly hope the people who were able to be found were - and names of those who dies including passengers on the planes, that we knew for certain I did not use, out of respect. My uncle is serving our country current deployed on his second tour - this time he is not in Iraq. This poem is in no way a reflection of my opinions of the war.
