Does Cam just look like a teen ager in this shot? Its not the best picture I ever took but man, all I see hwen I look at that is her thirteen year old self trying to talk me into God Knows who’s concert tickets, and trying to figure out how to get her hair to stand up with out killing the ozone. Welcome back 1985. Sheesh…
This is National Poetry month, and as a poet I feel I must
I really feel for those mothers who have the babies really young. It’s a lot of work and I think it’s the best time….It’s a little nerve-racking to wait that long, but it’s the best time to have it because you’ve done so many other things in your life. You just get it out of you system, and you can really relax into being a mother, which is the best thing that can happen to you.
But if you’re 23, you don’t know this because you think you have to do so many more things. But if you already did them, then you can really focus and enjoy every minute of it. - Selma Hayek
Selma is one of the sexy-ist, smartist women - in my opinion - in hollywood. She is one of the few women who I think could walk into my marriage and leave with my husband - for at least a few weeks, before he realised she can’t ______ like me and comes on home. Shes ticked a lot of people off with this statement, and I happen to agree with her whole heartedly.
Truth is I know both sides of this argument. My mom had me when she was week fresh 17. I had my first daughter when I was 27 - which by all arguments could still be concidered young but looking at the cycle my mother insisted my sister and i avoid, we were practically OLD. In fact when bpregnant with my second child my mother implied that I was OLD which was why it was more difficult the second time around.
Seriously.
Being 27 when I gave birth I felt like I had done the club scene and wasn’t “missing out” per say when my friends decided to go out, and I’m grown enough to know I can still go occasionally if I wanna. So I get what shes sayin, and I can see where young moms would get offended. I know none of my friends are going though whatI am going through mostly becuase out side of a few most of my friends have eight, nine and ten year olds. THey will be far done and kickin it again when I am contemplating whether Cam can be dropped off at the mall alone. SO there are some perks to early parenthood including hearing “you can’t possibly be old enough to have a 31 year old daughter!!” which my mom gets all the time. But my angle on it is- is having kids young something you would encourage your son or daughter to do? for me - no - I will, as my mother has done, encourage my kids to wait as long as they can to have kids and live as much as they want before hand - cause kids change the way you live, they just do.
What do you guys think? Selma out of line?

So the birthday weekend was nice - calm for the most part. the husband took me to see a college Shakespeare play which Cammy’s favorite one of her daddy’s friends was performing in - Uncle Justin. WE went for sushi at Wasabi before the play. then to Ameristar for some time away from home and kids.
it was an easy night. The kind that reminds you that you are still human and woman and your life is still yours. My good friend Jaelithe gave me the most nifty cookbook and cookies baked from the book - WHICH - mind you my four year old confiscated. She gave my said birthday gift at our blogger meet up where we solidified the new St. Louis Bloggers Guild.
Bloggers are well… bloggers regardless of what value anyone believes blogs to have - believe in your own value, we believe in ours which is why we started this whole thing. This is not about who you know - its about what you do. We hope to help bloggers know as much about blogging on both the technical side as well as the artistic side, and we hope to help define blogger rights as the new era of link journalism has been born.
We’ve had countless meetings they all seem to include Dana at some point making this face…
which should be reason enough to join the Guild in its self. We are still in infant stage but we totally expect this to take off quickly so I would advise local bloggers who in anyway, well, blog, to join.
In other news I’ve decided to move forward on the whole Photography thing - I am going to offer HEAVILY discounted sessions for the first TEN sessions I book, including weddings - family portraits - pets - seniors - business head shots what ever - you want me to shoot your granny’s third cousins 35th bar mitzvahs anniversary just let me know I’m there.
I’ve got thing poppin off , my granny was sick today and I’ve had my kids all day today so this post is a tad short.. I’ll end with kid cute for you guys…

these are the things I hear in my head everyday - the voices that I have to quiet, the ones I have to ignore as I make my way to work in the morning.
I have been in a personal quandry for a little while. My husband thinks I am unhappy and he blames himself. My daughter touches my face and tries to make me smile. my family wants me to be bubbly and perky. I have been twisting with the direction my life has taken, the things I have done - decisions I’ve made. I have never been one to wallow in regret. I do however spend a vast amount of time
we ‘gon party like its my birthday - drink vodka like its my birthday…
That was my sisters birthday song for me this morning.
I am 31 years old today.
I expect I will eat some cake, and chill out. Hopefully get my hubby to make me a crawfish quiche for breakfast tomorrow.
workin on a lot of things.. we’ll see what comes of it all.

Few days ago I was on my mommy job and took Cammy the butterfly kite she requested to school for kite flying day, I stayed and watcher her and her classmates race through the blocked off parking lot and try to fly kites. I thought I would share a few of the pictures here - if this tool is working correctly you only have to hover your mouse over the image and click to get it to blow up to a larger viewing size without leaving the page.. if it makes you leave the page -then I need to fix it.
