Today Jerry and I started getting our minds wrapped back around making our house a home. We pulled the carpet out of the kid’s bedroom room. picked out the hardwood floor we plan to use. Made some decisions about whether to do the whole floor or just part. Kinda just got the ball rolling on the whole house front. Which is good with my sisters wedding, and thanksgiving and shoot just life, things had simply stalled on the upstairs.
I really, really want to get the expansion going. I want to get our home on the right track and all the other chapters written a little better. And some how I think if we can get our house going the rest will fall into place.
I’ve made a bit of a big U-turn on the school thing, I’ve decided to pursue photography as my livelihood rather than culinary arts. As much as I love to bake and cook. I can’t say I am prepared to invest the constant 24 hours whole day commitments that it takes to open a food business. But I can say that there is something about photography and being invited into peoples personal moments and trusted to make sure those moments are as beautiful on paper as they were in real life that is just humbling and a wonderful experience.
I would mention the ice storm but dude its been so regular on St.Louis Bloggers sites, that I will simply say that for the first time -EVER our power did not go out, I want to say that the neighbors who cut down their tree did the whole block a great great favor.
I really want to watch Superman Returns. My friend Joe has it – and won’t bring it to me. He sucks for that one.
Speaking of Joe – he went with me to celebrate my godmothers birthday- it was the first time since I was probably sixteen that I was in a room with my mom and all of her life long – high school friends. They are certifiably insane. Loud and just a hoot riot. I think I’ll keep em.
Tomorrow starts the work week- we are thinking of making the trek to Chicago Saturday to pick up some stuff for Christmas. Maybe get some Gino’s East or some other really good Chicago eats. Any suggestions?
