So the husband calls me. Which is rare - for our love is best documented via IM so for him to call.. makes me nervous.
“Hey babe!”
“Yeah love whats wrong?”
“Nothing - job is having a winery day trip, you wanna go with me?”
“Well sure!”
During that whole converstaion I went from “Oh God! What happened!” to “he’s askin me on a date!” in less than thirty seconds.
I tell you it was nice to be asked out. Its never THAT simple in our house - so after some last minute hiccups where we had the dates wrong- days clashed with a wedding expo I wanted to check out and had be preparing to attend for several weeks - but in the end it was easy to decide, I mena he asked me on a date!!
How often does that happen in ones wedded life?
Usually the dating is all but done after you get back from your honeymoon. Then have multiple childeren and its really out the window, mix in a dose of ‘Honey I want to start my own photography business!’ and the gaps between dates seem to just keep getting wider.
Needless to say I was exited! So off we went out over lots of rolling hills in a bus with a few snacks and his coworkers. They tell good stories of the jackassery and shenanigans that had transpired in years past. I got to meet a lot of really nice people. My husband likes to say people think I am the cool one in our realtionship cause it seems like I’m the outgoing one. Truth is - he gives me the base to be able to be outgoing cause I know he’s there, and he is happy to be anywhere with me.
Having someone beleive in your everything is more than enough to make doing the impossible feel easy.
SO I bounced from table to table and met people, got to put some names with some faces. AndI took the camera cause its always nice to have pictures of the people haivng a good time. I asked Jerry what his goal was for the day. He said he just wanted me to meet his co-workers, he likes to show me off, so I did my best trophy wife, and I think we had a good time.
We played a cool game sort of like my FAVORITE board game 25 words or less but it wasn’t that game - forgive me but I forget what game it was.
I also watched a very cool game (to watch) be played called F*#$ the dealer. HILARITY. Apparently I didn’t attend the right frat parties in college cause its a college drinking game. I am not brave enough to start drinkin like that with people who aren’t my immediate family.
I got to spend a little time on a winery -although it was one weekend late as the leaves had all fallen. It was held at Balducci Vineyards, which has beautiful grounds. I wanted to spend some times amongst the vines but I didn’t get a chance to, it as COLD and a little more overcast than I woulda liked or I woulda dragged some of the couples out for some pretty pictures amongst the grounds. I got what is easily in my top 5 images of Jerry so thats okay. Next year I’ll go early in the year.. so go ahead honey - send this link around! I had a great time co-workers!
