I decided to post this poem next because I saw a poem by a marine – and it is not often a poet actually gets my respect and actually deserves it – (have you been to your local open mic?)
he did – his poem is right here
*disclaimer I wrote this poem using situations as seen in the first days of the attack – names were taken from the news clips of people looking for their relatives, what they knew at the time. All of my friends in New York were not accounted for at this time. i lost no direct friends. I truly hope the people who were able to be found were – and names of those who dies including passengers on the planes, that we knew for certain I did not use, out of respect. My uncle is serving our country current deployed on his second tour – this time he is not in Iraq. This poem is in no way a reflection of my opinions of the war.
