So Bria and I have a difference of opinion. She thinks that honing her RAZOR sharp teeth on my chest is a good thing.

Alas I do not.

Shes very upset by my decision as that means I am mostly pumping and feeding her by bottle. Only letting her breast feed late nights when shes not thinking about biting and I’m not thinking about bottles.

This I can see is not oging to be the easy thing it was with Cammy. Oh how I miss being rejected by my infant.

Okay, this is what worked with my little biter: I shouted, “OUCH! NO!” the second I felt the beginning of a bite. Then I would push him away and refuse to nurse him. Then I would act like I was crying, and I would say, “You hurt mommy.” Like, basically I made a big production of it. I know that some people say that it makes kids MORE likely to bite if you make a big deal out of it, but I found the opposite was true. I suppose it depends on your baby’s personality, though. Isaac has always been really sensitive to other people’s feelings so I think that is why this approach worked so well with him.

Of course, this did not work on the first try– I had to do it several times. And he would go through phases every few months where he would start biting again. Let me tell you, I sincerely vowed to stop nursing that kid at least 10 times after a bad bite. (And yet, I still nursed him until he was two. It was those brown eyes. Well, and his unwillingness to drink cow’s milk.)

Oh that girl! She is just too darn cute for her own good! I like J’s suggestion. I never got to go through this so I have nothing for you, but just don’t get suckered in by those eyes or her cute smile…..or her sweet fat cheeks and you’ll stay strong.

I’m laughing. Bri looks like, “Oh yeah, you KNOW I’m gonna bite ya. But ain’t I cute?”

    Your caption is funny.

    Too cute!!
But I will NEVER breastfeed again, those damn smiles and eyes are deciving.
I called Pyper the ’shark’ and she would go in for the attack. Oh, the agony.
I don’t miss those days. Those days have been replaced with sleepless nights and a terrible two year old. (I am ranting).

I did the same thing as Jae with Liam. Only had to do it twice before he stopped. Different story with Ewan - he actually laughed at me and did it again. There’s something to be said for second-borns …
