I don’t really do resolutions, I would love to resolve to lose weight and countless other things but as soon as I stick a New Years Resolution on it – its pretty much a guarantee I am gonna forget about it by march. So I typically put out in the universe the things that I want to get back.
The key I have found is you must say them out loud, the universe cannot bring anything it has not been given.
So this is my list for 2009, things that are must happen.
1. I want to shoot 40 weddings. In the greater Saint Louis area. Including but not limited to weddings and receptions at Windows Over Washington, The 3rd degree Glass factory, Moulin (which is owned by the nicest people, Paul and Wendy. Jerry and I met them on our honeymoon in Jamacia, and now we frequent 1111 mississippi, our favorite of their establishments, all the time.) Also on my not so short list of places I intend to shoot this year are the Missouri Botanical Gardens, The Jewel Box in forest park and the Worlds Fair Pavilion. Lumen, which is a beautiful space.
I am also hoping to do some cultural weddings. I had a ball at the Indian/Hindu wedding I shot this fall.
2. I am hoping to secure some studio space – which may in turn help me get to that 40 wedding marker. Not that a stuido is aboslutely necesary but, what in life is necessary really?
3. I want to take a half dozen trips this year including Disney with the kids, and a beach with the husband and a few destination weddings.
4. I want to launch a few new blogs – two to be exact – I’m workin on those when i finish this blog entry
5. Watch better T.V, Grey’s Anatomy I’m talking to you – stop jumping the shark please…
6. Learn to knit. Stop laughin internets…
6a. Hire someoen to knit hte stuff I am not gonna learn to knit.
7. Buy more clothes. I like clothes, I really like shoes – I should buy more shoes , shoes are good. Own more shoes in ’09. That should be a t-shirt.
I think that’s good start for the beginning of 09…

1111 Mississippi is my all-time FAVORITE!! The best part about this list? It is all attainable! Good luck wild woman (:
40 weddings would be awesome! how many did you shoot in 08?
You have really been on your blogging game lately. Regular posts and all.
Putting 1111 mississippi on my list of places to visit.
Lol @ 6 and 6a
40 weddings is like a wedding almost every weekend for the whole year! That’s lots of scrill to take trips with
Jodie – I didn’t start advertizing wedding photography til late summer so my total was really low for 08. I’ve already booked more weddings for 09 than I shot in 08.
Patrice – also try Mosaic, its is a wonderful place to go with friends!
Melody – 40 weddings at this point would make me able to leave my day job – 50 would give me the scrill to travel with! WHen are you gonna start doing wedding planning?!?! you know its your calling…
FYI on #6, I tried to teach you to knit three years ago. AND I am respectfully declining in advance to be the person you get to knit for you when and/or if you don’t learn.
Second, if you put in an addendum or a contingency plan against learning something, you’ll never put forth the effort to really learn it. So, for karma’s sake take out 6a.
Wubba.
Spoken – why you gotta be pointing out old stuff!?!?!
wubba back
Best of luck on the ’09 goals. 40 weddings would be awesome.
But would you shoot a wedding…in my backyard? Maybe this year or next is our plan! I’ll work around YOUR schedule, you shoot the most gorgeous images I’ve seen in a very long time. I’m so proud of you!
And when do you plan on sleeping in 2009????
sleep is over rated..
Girl, I know. I KNOW! You know I know.
For me: 2009 partial wishlist:
Book enough sessions to pay for some more equipment, particularly some lenses. Maybe another camera body if it’s a good year.
One word: WEBSITE. I HAVE TO HAVE TO HAVE TO get on that.
And get some actions.
Also, peace for all and good will towards men AND WOMEN!
Great idea and post. Good luck to you this year. -Dave Z.
