Now previously I failed to mention my Saturday adventure. We threw my sister who is due in less than a month a virtual baby shower.
I hear you internets, I hear you asking, “Now, how Raquita did you pull that off?”
Well I’ll tell you internets, it was just as involved as throwing her one here. We did our standard shopping for my darling niece Sophia, then we packed a nifty giant 20 x 20 box and filled it with confetti and tissue paper and packed it full of presents the we put a shower balloon in there and decorated the flaps – so it was a party in a box. My hunky brother in law P went a got us a nifty web cam and I picked one up here and on the advice of the gspn.tvGSPN.tv pod casting guy Cliff, we went to Ustream.tv and signed up for accounts. Add one gut wrenching trip to OVERNIGHT THAT BYTCH a couple of free clicks and then BAM! Instant shower.
She squeeled like a girl when the balloon popped out of the box.
My aunt and mom squeeled like girls when she showed us her belly, we all reached out to touch the computer screen, instant habit. We could not stop the motion. She took us on a tour of her house. We just talked and talked and stayed on line long after the presents were opened and the tickle of tiny clothes had passed. We all feel so much closer to her knowing we can see her when we want to, or for me when I need to.
It was so wonderful to get to see her and watch her move in real time and talk like she was right here. We were only missing the ability to touch her. Rub her belly and whisper promises of love to her tummy. Hug her. Press our devotion into her so her child will know it is real and that she is ours too.
I so hope she knows.
Stupid move to Philly. I want my sister back.

What an awesome idea… very techy and creative. See the internets aren’t that bad after all
