Poets and stuff

So this last week or so has been filled with poets left and right for me. NACA was a week ago in ST. Louis, which meant a lot of my poetry friends were to be in the area. SO It was nice to meet people I haven’t met but talk to and admire and people who I just hadn’t seen in ages. Queen Sheba from VA came through and spent a few days. Got to see my girls for the first time in like four years. I officially have ‘the biggest knockers she ever saw’. I need to get a ribbon for my dressing mirror to that effect.

I also got to finally meet and talk to in person Bassey Ikpi. Who so very soundly FCUKING ROCKS. We’ve been eFriends for close to two years. So it was really nice to finally get to sit down across from her and talk to her. I only got to spend a few hours with her – then I took her to the airport for her flight out. Meeting her was one of those days when hours feel like minutes.

Queen Sheba came in from ATL, I am working on learning how to edit the video I took of her reading, maybe I’ll get it up. It was nice to see her again, it had been years. WE got little time to talk but it was still nice to see her..Marc Marcel came through immediately following Sheba. I hadn’t seen him in a few years either, so long that he didn’t even know I had been pregnant or had the baby. Sometime I wonder if my home wasn’t open would I ever hear from these people… but honestly those are mute thoughts, as my house is open, even if its not as open as it used to be, so it’s neither here nor there.

But hearing them perform made me miss it ever so much. I started workin on a poem or two.

I just had the worst fish sandwich ever – it tasted like a fried sponge on a bun.

Moving on.

Spokens birthday is this week, as is my granny’s birthday. We are having a party for the Spoken – if you wanna drop by hit me up for my addy you are welcome. For the granny I think we are doing spa day. I’m not sure yet.

Hubby sent me a lovely letter from craigslist… I think I love craigslist. It is not work safe so I will not post it here, however if you wanna read it, feel free to contact me and I will send it to you.

Cammy’s got School admission meetings this week, so I am wrapping my head around that. I am thinking of going to a scrapbook convention in April. I’m thinking about adding a smaller point and shoot camera to my arsenal (one that my mother cannot steal) so I can take more random pictures during the day, I’d like to post some recipes and what not. Food is fun, and is a major part of who I am so in the near future you all will see some of that.

I am also workingon my photography website, I think I am gonna get that going as well as getting the back room together for a little photo fun in the near future.
