I know I been cheating by just posting pics of my beautiful girl lately, but I figure her cute is better than nothing, and I’ve had so many things going on.
Lets start from now and go backwards.
happy 4th of july. It was a nice twist on a holiday. I did not have to cook. I visited two set of relatives, my mothers aunt and her children were stop one. My aunt does things to a pot of greens that makes me pretty darn ghetto with a cup – thats right a cup of greens – in lieu of a plate of anything else. I should have stole the pot. Cammy got to hang out with Cousins, which was cute. She walks up to me after we’ve been there ten minutes, and asks me. “Mom, which ones are Cousins?” We all got a good laugh out of that after we sent her on her way after explaining that all the other kids were her cousins.
These are the children of my second cousins – the kids of the children I grew up with. Rough housed with. One has become quite the actress, doing stage plays. Another is even more bohemian than I am – which is quite the feat. the boys – one is a good father and one is a excelent man – who ironically I didn’t get to see but his fiance was there and I enjoy hanging with her when we get the chance. And another is a republican, her primaray reason – her pastor told her to vote that way. Demorcrats and liberals kill babies ect. I chose to bite my tounge on that one. Cause nothing is more oil vinegar than family and politics.
I spent a couple hours with my dad and his girlfriend. My husband thinks my dad has the barbeque thing down PAT, and was so glad I brought him a plate of my dads ribs and has decided that the staple of black barbeques is now tasty. What is said staple you ask? Pork steaks. My husband wasn’t fond of pork steaks until this last set my dad made and apparently he put some vodoo on them and now both my husband and child are like yummmy! I forgot to pester my dad about giving me this sectional hes putting in storage when he sells his house. Oh well – there is always next visit.
“Mommy, fireworks are my favorite and my best.” – Cammy
Cammy got to play with her first sparkler this year(photo above) . I got a half a dozen from my cousins and after we got home, and made a little detour to drive slowy and see the fireworks down town she got to get upclose and personal with a few kiddie pyro things.
This past weekend we went to see Ratatouille with Cammy, My husband made a point of us having a whole family evening including dinner before and ice cream after. And it was honestly one of the best evenings I’ve had in a while. During the previews Cammy giggled and laughed through almost all of them except the new Mr. Bean trailer – which she did not find amusing in the least. I however thought the very last line in the trailer was funny and laughed and Cammy turned to me with a straight – stone straight face – and says, painly loud enough for the nine or so people surrounding us to hear. “That is not funny mommy.” which in turn CRACKED US ALL UP FURTHER. shes’ turning into such a grown up little girl. Shes taken to a state puzzle we bought for her birthday, she knows the names and location of alot of the states. and gets better and better at identifying them. she can tell a horse from a donkey. Shes smarter than she wants to let on. I see her counting to her self but if I ask her to count with me she won’t go nearly as high as I just watched her go alone.
i’ve hit the home stretch in this pregnancy I think. I’ve started lactating I think, I messed up a few shirts last week so I figure that means the kid is really coming.Shes a very direct kinda kid. not afraid to kick me to get me to move and reposition to make her more comfortable- shes not doing well with this whole sharing of space thing we got going on here. I am certianly looking forward to meeting Miss Gabrielle, I am in week 32- eight weeks to go.
