So I was Rockin out to Warrant….

That in its self deserves a pause.

Okay Yeah I was rockin out to Warrant’s Cherry Pie, with my authentic white girlfriend Julie, (Hi Julie!!-she reads this) and it got me to thinkin about all the Rock music black people don’t typically admit to liking – ESPECIALLY in a room full of white people. It just isn’t typically done. White people don’t say the N-word, Black people don’t go “GAWD, I love Led Zeppelin!”* So it must be said that I am bridging years of racial divide right now –  we will all be singing “We are the world” by the end of this post. Actually for best reference I need to refer you to this post which sums up the truth about black people and Rock music, and its sister post cover white people and rap - go ahead and read them both – I’ll wait (and you’re gonna be a minute if like me you had to listen to EVERY SONG and try not to rock out at your desk or in front of the kids cause lets face it the kids are scarred everytime the y watch their parents dance.

*a very large number of black folk do actually like Led Zep. Go figure.
