St. Louis Bridal Shows are sorta cool….

I got weddings coming out the wazoo for editing, I got portraits and maternity sessions to edit, and I have no shooting this week so – I am all about the editing, and the laundry =0) cause a clean towel would be nice. I know its been too long since I posted and I come bearing gifts in this what will be entirely too short a post. I did my first solo wedding show this weekend, and I think it went well – not so awesome I booked people on the spot but I got to talk to some great people, brides, grooms – more grooms than I expected, and vendors. The whole not booking on the spot – well I have to aspire to something!

Lots of people were like ‘Raquita – OVERKILL with the booth girl’ – but I think I’d rather go over than under any day. Its how I do everything, photography too. I mean I think I’m still drunk of the Kool-Aid of quitting my day job cause I’m still like – Hey! We can do that! Lets TRY THIS! OH! OH! HOW ABOUT DOING THAT! Which I think my husband hopes will wear off before our life savings do. But in all seriousness I’d rather try it and not need it than wish I had tried it. Some of my photography mentors gave me a lot of great advice that I will definitely take into account next time. And I think I have decided that there will be a next time. Which is sorta a relief and a reason to freak out cause we worked our butts off to get this one under our belts.    That being said my super friend April, video vixen extraordinaire (and not in a video model way – although she is visually qualified for that too) – anywho she stopped by and did a quick little video of the booth and us during the day, and I thought I would post it..

We dedicated a little section of our booth to Its Intimate Boudoir photography, and the response I think was really good. I learned a lot about bridal shows, brides, my best friend – who as if I didn’t know WAS SO SUPER AWESOME, and my hunky husband and his best friend were super fannytastic for helping me move that thing, and my good good friends Grant and Meg (happy birthday Meg!) and Dave for building the dog gone thing.  I tell people often I live a blessed life and it is days like Sunday that show me exactly how rich I am in great great people in my life.

feedback is welcome and keep on the look out I am going way back on the posting this week..

Your booth looks like it’s a studio. So YOU!
