Cause, man, if it was say- Wednesday - I would be a VERY unhappy person.
Oh internets the joys of a Friday. Last night however was the kind of night that sets up good weekends, so I am hopeful. Nothing special happened, Jerry and I tag teamed on the dinner portion. He made the mashed potatoes (AWESOME – my husband makes AWESOME potatoes.) and I handled frying some pork chops which ironically my husband had never had until I made him some a few weeks back. He loves ‘em. I like to take credit for a long list of things my husband refused to eat when we started dating that he now does, and I have knocked one more thing off the list.
Score for wifey!
So while the chops were doing their thing fryin for daddy, Cammy and I made Rice Krispie Treats. Which, while are way more cost effective to make by hand, I understand why people just buy them cause the sauce pan you use for to melt the marshmallows can be a bear to clean. I saw a good eats on how to make marshmallows from scratch, but I am not that domestic. I finally found a grocer near me who sells Kraft marshmallows (they have all but disappeared from my local regular grocery store shelves) so now I can make ‘em and they TASTE right.
I don’t care what anybody says generic and off brand stuff does actually taste and cook differently than the stuff that has become national brands. What is the deal with these Marshmellows with the little marshmallow guy on the front? they SUCK. I can always tell when some company changes the formula for their product. For instance, I can’t eat Trix cereal anymore- they changed the formula and now it tastes like the fruit cereal they sell in bags, and that stuff sucks.
Another junk food moment. I found Berry Berry Kix at a local Target, so now I get to go to Target on purpose. Do you think – internets that Berry Berry Kix are why I can’t fit into the same jeans from highschool? I still have a pair.
I am off point aren’t I. Anyway so we made some yummy RKT’s, and we ate dinner while they cooled and watched ‘the polar express’, which by the way is a awesome kid Christmas movie. Cammy and I loved it. I’m gonna try and hunt up the DVD for Christmas eve and the book for Christmas morning, and a sleigh bell for her stocking.
Tonight is the Blogger meet up – I’m too tired to link look on my side bar for the banner- and I am excited to see everybody – and I’ll prolly be on time -ish.![]()
Cookie baking and decorating with Cammy this weekend, and Christmas pictures of the girls so I can order them on Monday.
Will post tomorrow, and hopefully see a lot of you guys tonight!

See you soon!
So if you coat a glass bowl with pam or crisco or something else like that and put the marshmallows in the microwave you can skip cleaning the pan. So not worth the scrubbing.
we are putting up our polar express train set, I hope this year that Abbie isn’t as scared of it this year as last year. Last year she tried to climb up the 8 foot entertainment center to get away from it.
And your pork chop recipe is….?
I am so glad I ran into you at the blogger meet-up! You and Jerry are hilarious!
Thanks to Jerry, Tom is now running out for Bacon-flavored salt, and is conjuring up some bacon ice cream for Sunday. Yum.
(;
Homemade marshmellows? Are you fucking kidding me? What’s the point?
Also, that’s why my mom HATED making me RKT growing up but she did it, always because she loves me. I did it recently with Soph, and didn’t find it as bad as my mom said, but Soph wouldn’t eat them because she’s pickier than I guess your husband (I don’t eat pork chops either.) Also, and don’t take offense or try to knock me out at the next blogger event but your husband? HE ROCKS!!!
Its been too long since we chatted. Things have been crazy! I just saw a picture of your newest little one. Gorgeous (of course that is to be expected with two gorgeous parents).
Fried porkchops? YUMMY! You are making my mouth water!
