So It has been a very long and eventful week. We shall start with the low points. MY SISTER IS GONE!!! BAWWWWWWWLLLLLING!!!!
She has moved to the grand city of Philly to be married and stuff with my bro in law P.
I have been the big sister and told her what I would do if it were me and Jerry in her shoes, pack my shyt and move with my man. So I understand why she has to go, and even encourage her to trust herself and do what she knows is right for her and her marriage.
She has proven to me what a strong and wonderful woman and wife she is time and time again. She previously had spent 80% of her married life alone, like an army wife or something. And I for one, can’t imagine signing up for that – but then again if Jerry was in the service I probably would have.
But this SO puts a hamper on my plans to be the UBER AUNT to my new neice. But I am dog sitting since they are hotel bound they can’t take him with them, Max the 13 lb tiny dog with a lot of bark vs. Anubis the 130 lb drool machine, which is another blog in its self. Now I have to do alot fo mailing and shipping and spoiling and forcing of my sister to blog and and ACTUALLY USE FLICKR and things of that nature. Besides that I actually like my sister and man – there really isn’t anything nicer than when fate chooses a cool person to be your best friend, i didn’t even have to go look for her- I just had to wait for us to grow up!
Its a sweet deal really. Someone to torture as a kid, someone to hang with as an adult.
So while I am totally bummed that she is offically fourteen hours away by car, and my travelocity list has been updated to alert me when its cheaper to fly there I don’t expect that the distance will make too much a difference. Granted I can’t just pop over and make her go pick fruit with us, or meet me at Babies R Us, or the mall as we have found our selves doing more often lately. But I can still call her and whine about whatever. And she will still say the same thing when she calls me at work, and asks what I’m doing and when I say ”nothing,” she will go “NO!!! YOU are WORKING!!” and she will still be my sister. And perhaps the effort that we will put out to keep our sister thing going strong will be worth the trip.
Weddings in Chi-Town
before she left a few weekends back we were all invited to a wedding in Chicago for a dear cousin of ours Brandon and our newest ‘Official family memeber’ Jordans wedding. I say offical cause we already just thought Jordan was the best and love haivng her in the family, and the rest of her family, well – just Gosh darn it! The apple truly did not fall far from the tree in that orchard. Btu the pending road trip to chicago was probably the great and dumbest thing I’ve ever tried as a very pregnant person.
See Chicago and I have a love hate relationship. I love the city, I hate that everytime I go I end up walking a hole in a pair of shoes, and trying to do so while eight months pregnant was, how do I say – STUPID – yeah that’s probably the right sentiment.
I love michigan ave, i like walking it, I really do, it just doesn’t seem long until you are ON YOUR WAY BACK, and all the free trolleys in the world don’t keep a sore pregnant chick from being more sore after a day of sight seeing. Think a duck waddles? no a duck is graceful after watch me in action. Yeah and what does the stupid lady do on day two? Wake up and going trollin for Garrets popcorn. Yeah – four blocks from the hotel with ankles swolen to the size of two ankles.
Can you say four dollar cab ride back please?
We stayed with my sister and went walking to Millennium park, which has a very impressive giant shiny stainless steel bean in the middle of it, by the way. We made that trek up and down michigan ave. Had the most fabulous food at Fultons on the River, and got danced under the table by my 92 year old grand mother. yeah. Seriously. fo real.
We spent a few hours on Navy Pier which was fun, cinamon roasted nuts, tasty. Bathrooms a zillion miles from an entrance, not so cool. We also ran into some of my aunts Washington university co workers, i don’t normally post pictures of people i don’t really know know, but I did put a few up in the photo set from the wedding so you guys can wish for the day where I imortalize your shyt too! birthin Babies and Shyt
So since I got back I started having braxtons like nobodys business. My hips have spread father apart than than divorced rich people. I have a steady stream of lower back pain, and the ligaments around my belly are really not happy either, not to mention the distinct feeling that in additon to the small person chillin on on uterus from the inside, a large person is standing directly on my va-jay-jay.
and my kid is the most active thing on the planet. She’s moving nad kicking all the time. She responds to direct communication. you talk to her she kicks me you poke at her she kicks me – you don’t talk to her – she kicks me – I’m pretty sure I’m a soccer ball either way it goes.
Since this past Sunday I’ve been experiencing very uncomfortable Chest pains, i’ve spent a lovely day at the ER for them to tell me they have no idea what is going on with that. Take a tylenol to hope to cut any additonal pain off at the pass and see your Dr asap.
Yeah – thanks for tellin me something that I don’t know. So now I’ve been poked and prodded and stuck even more than usual. And Still don’t have the kid out of my belly.
So I am just rollin with my cravings and trying to be a sport about this. I’m not a very good sport. And Gabrielle and Camille both are gonna owe me a pretty nifty trip to Bora Bora or Tahitti you know somewhere tropical and exotic, all inclusive with motorized sports and top shelf liquor included for all this birthin stuff i’ve had to do. Jerry’s gonna need as much to get that third child he wants.
I expect to do some pretty nifty traveling in the future.
p.s ran into St. Louis NBA native (curretnly on the Cleveland Cavs squad) Larry Hughes on the way to the ER, he looked like someone was checking out of the hospital and I just wanted to say I hope everything is well for him and his family.

You had me rolling with the divorced people line. And you are so cute pregnant that I may decide not to like you – my pregnancies weren’t all that cute. In fact, my face spread so I hate pictures of me carrying babies.
Thanks so much for your comments today! How did you find my blog anyway (sometimes I’m just nosy and since you’re in Chicago I can guess, but still!)?
Also, when you find My Boyfriend Common, you are obligated to contact me.
I remember you talking about your sis that time we all got together for Chinese. Wish her all the best.
Hey, It’s the sister that’s farrrrrrrr away. I’ve been waiting on you to make a post all week. I particularly like the map. Nothing like a map to make you feel 900 miles away.
Well as you know, I miss home already and as soon as Bria makes her debut I’m getting my prego behind on a plane and come home.
If you start my blog, I guess I can start posting. But, don’t think my entries will be anywher near as interesting as yours.
Later, Nata.
My sis lives farrrrrrr away also. It sucks.
I can’t believe you are a month away from having your baby.!
I had a fair bit of chest pain toward the end of my pregnancy– the doctors told me it was just muscles/ligaments stretching during the last few weeks (i.e., baby feet stuck in my rib cage). Still a good thing to get checked out, though.
If someone happened to have a gift for Miss Gabrielle, future soccer champion, how might that person deliver it, hmmmmm?
I’ll never forget when Molly went to Phoenix, totally different circumstances, but just thinking about it puts a pit in my stomach. That’s what phones with unlimited long distance are for!
Hope you’re feeling normal soon.
