Today vs. yesterday

So over at News-Bitch, shes offering up the breaking news… Apprently NKOTB is getting back together. Clearly if I need to break down what NKOTB stands for – you should probably just stop reading this post all together, it won’t mean too much to you at all.

I was honestly not the biggest NKOTB, I was busy channeling Janet Jackson, and loving bands that were never ever gonna sell a million dollars. And so while leaving my comment over on NB’s site I thought of my young daughters love of music which she has gotten from me easily. She is very into Beyonce right now. Her favorite song today? Upgrade U.

yeah.
and she’s three.
I don’t have a lot of room to bytch about it, whileI am convinced it was those DirecTv comericals that really did it in our house, I love Beyonce. Shes my get crunk, gettin ready to go out listen to it too loud, need to get hyped on friday night on the way out (if I went out)  music.

I found my way down memory lane again ans thought of all the teen music and crushes I’ve had on musicians. The one I remember most and with most ease was Albert Fields, from The Party. The Party was a teen group who got its start on  the MMC, That would be the new mickey mouse club to you unhip persons with out extended basic cable in the 90′s.

yes the cute black guy with the highwater cross color jeans on totally had me at hello. I hear he and the dark hair’d cool one – Damon, are trying to make another go of it, but from the look of the video on YouTube, its not exactly goin well.

Then of course as I mentioned to there was Martika’s Kitchen and Nia Peeples

yeah. I was the hip and cool one can’t you tell?

I really liked the older brother from The Boys, pretty much cause he was tall. the rest of the guys in that group were TINY. Short, like 5’4. And while I wasn’t exactly an amazon at that age, I was the tallest chick in class for a long time. Hey I was shallow at thirteen what do you want from me? Anywho they aren’t exactly still on the scene as  Iwould remember them, apparently they moved to Africa for a while, and are now recording under the name The Suns of Light.

anywho I think that is a far enough trek down memory lane. Hey at least Cammys not into Lil Jon and the East side boys. Skee Skee Skee.

yeah. I totally thank God on that one.
