What style do you shoot?
I try not to say “I do this, or I do that…” or even what I won’t do, Its limiting and quite frankly not a lot of fun. I am all about the good time! We are always trying to be better, better artist, better mom, better wife, better human. Whats that you say? Just answer the question? I could be loosely classified as photo-journalistic with traditional tendencies. I do shoot fine art pieces as well, that being said all prints larger than 8 by 10 come matted mounted and ready to frame.
Huh? The question? Oh yeah, sorry I get so excited.. We like to capture as much of your style in our efforts as possible. Most clients will agree they do not (or rather their mother does not) want their wedding with absolutely no formal photography. So we do our very best to capture your day and give the modern part of you the photojornalisic style you want and deliver the stunning formal shots to satisfy your traditional side as well.
Do you shoot black & white and color?
all of my images are taken in Technicolor (insert jazz hands here). There are some images that B&W would really make POP, and showcase your style, and in those situations we take them in color with our digital equipment and then convert them to black & white. Occasionally I will shoot directly in Black and White and the image is not avalible in color.
How many pictures will you take?
It really depends on the length of coverage. We tend to be a little shutter happy. Typically 400-1200 images for a single photographer, 600-2600 with a second shooter. What’s that? We’re a lot shutter happy? yeah you’re probably right. It really all depends on the length of the coverage, number of guests, and the flow of the evening. Our goal is to get you a complete story telling of your day. On average that will include roughly 150-300 images for you to enjoy.
Are the high resolution files available for purchase
The treated high resolution files, are available for purchase, please inquire about pricing as they are not included in any package we offer. I do not sell however the pictures you did not see in your proofs. Yes I know we take hundreds if not thousands of photos but they are not all worthy of being seen. If you had to turn in the word doc you made at your job before you proofed it and did revisions … yeah exactly. You will receive a DVD containing all of the lo-res images included in your album, should you include an album in your purchase when your album is delivered.
Will you work off a shot list we have created?
Yes, I am excited to try and get everything you want out of your experience, but please remember, I cannot guarantee every shot on your list. That shot you want that requires me to shoot from the roof of the church? probably not gonna happen. Churches frown on the whole climbing the building thing. I will not break the flow of your day to get a particular photo unless it is specifically requested. (you wanted a picture of your favorite cousin pinning your hair up but shes not the person pinning your hair – I won’t stop whom ever is pinning your hair to sub in said cousin.) If you have a shot list to work from, I would request a close friend or relative be asked to gather friends and family (especially for formal photos.) This will help me tremendously since I don’t know who most of the extended family members are, and do not want to offend your great aunt should I miss adding her to the correct photos.
We would love to work with you, now what?
Send me an e-mail at Pinxitphoto@gmail.com or call (314) 503-6850 and we’ll gladly get you scheduled and begin your Pinxit Experience.
Who will be the photographer at my wedding?
Raquita will be the primary photographer. The second associate photographer, if selected, will be hired by Pinxit Photography based on availability. I keep two in reserves so if you are feeling really photogenic you could even get a third.
Do you use film or digital cameras?
Digital baby! I’m like Tivo for your photographs!
Can I customize my album?
Yes. I will send you samples of our progress to get your input as I design your album, you can let me what works for you and what doesn’t.
Can I purchase a larger album?
Yep, absolutely no problem.
Do you shoot engagement and bridal portraits?
Yes! I am more than happy to shoot either session, we even do Rock the Frock (also called trash the dress, but that seems so violent..) sessions if that’s your style.
What types of albums do you carry?
I offer several matted albums and flush (coffee table type) albums. We prefer a more modern style photojournalist focused album, they are all leather bound and do have more traditional mat options if you prefer. We also offer a photo book which is not leather bound.
Can we buy additional prints not included in our package?
Yes. You can order reprints, and albums at anytime for up to three years after your event.
How far in advance do you typically book weddings?
usually most people firm their date six months in advance during the off season, (fall/ winter months) and up to a year in advanced for prime wedding months (spring/summer) But for special situations we do shoot last minute weddings. Please contact us for details.
I definitely want to book, cause you totally rock! Can you hold my date?
I would LOVE to hold your date! All I need is a signed contract and your retainer. What’s that? You don’t want put down a retainer? I will be happy to pencil you in for a date and notify you if someone else is interested in booking your date. However, all dates are first come, first served. In order to hold the date I need two things, a signed contract and your retainer.
So how do we pay you this ‘retainer’ you speak of?
Cash, Check, Major Credit Cards via paypal, my client portal, somedays I do take chickens or small children old enough to do manual labor.
When can I see my photos?
Within 7-14 days of your wedding, your images will be posted online. Your proof prints, if requested, will be ready within 30 days.
What options do I have for viewing my images?
At this time we offer online proofing. 4×6 proofs are available for an additional fee.
Why are 4×6 proofs additional?
the truth is my most popular pricing does not include print options, they just include my time and talents. The print prices on this page are rather general and don’t include any quanity discounts. That being said, I would be more than happy to give you a custom pricing quote, just shoot me a line detailing exactly what you want and I will work it up for you!
Do you retouch your photos?
Yes. All final prints and album photos are retouched.
Is there any fee for retouching or color correction?
Not unless extensive editing is needed. Head swaps, braces removal and background changes are considered extensive.
How long do you archive images for after the wedding day?
Images are kept on our computers for 1 year. After the first year they are archived. Our archive consists of multiple locations and multiple media allowing for the best possible storage and recovery results. After three years we will send you a notice to advise you that we are removing them from archive and give you an opportunity to make any final purchases.
Why hire a professional photographer, why not use an amateur?
As a professional, our primary business is photography. We have the necessary licenses and insurance should anything happen on your wedding day. Our equipment is insured and we carry back ups. A professional knows how to effectively manage time and keep things moving along during the entire day. As I said I have just made the jump from advanced amateur to professional so I know a lot of people truly want to do the very best job they can but I also know a lot of people aren’t aspiring to be better photographers and learn everything they can to get the best photographs they can. I learned a lot of lessons at the expense of family and friends. Lessons I really would rather have not learned at their expense. Then there are the ‘others’. They shoot with less than stellar equipment, take unnecessary risks with your images and are truly trying to ‘just make a fast buck’. Don’t you want someone who values your memories as much as you do?
Why is professional photography in general so expensive?
Professional equipment is quite frankly expensive, and I am always lusting after I am always purchasing new equipment to keep up with the quality demands of our customers. (think my husband bought that??) Okay, Seriously, beyond the expenisve equiptment, we may only be at your wedding for 6-12 hours, we work a minimum of 25 hours after your wedding! In my experience for every one hour I spend shooting your event I spend four working with your images. So each wedding includes approximately 25-40 hours of labor after the shoot. This work is done whether you purchase prints or not. I do not hand over unedited images. I give you my best work, and that takes some time.
Why would you want a second photographer?
While I wish I could be sure I got every moment you want to remember when shooting your wedding, truth is while I am with you – uncle Bob is across the room with his tie around his head dancing with cousin Estell, a second photographer helps us get more of the moments you might has missed in all the goings on of the day. that being said we strongly recommend a second photographer for covering weddings in general.
How much does your typical couple budget for photography?
Our typical couples budget $1600-2800, depending on the actual order placed for prints and albums.
Are you available for weddings outside of the Greater St. Louis and Metro East area?
I am available for destination weddings and sessions anywhere in the country, contact me and we can make arrangements to capture your memories anywhere.
Once we have decided to work together we will have a meeting to discuss your desires for your memories. We want to know if there are any special places you want to be photographed at. Where you had your first date, your favorite hang out, the spot where you got engaged perhaps? We would like to see samples of the work you have been most excited about (outside of our own of course! ). So please bring magazine samples, all of your ideas and any website links to images you really really like. At this point we will also review contracts and sign any paperwork to secure your date.
We would also like to have some of the basic information about your wedding at this time as well. Color schemes, floral arrangements, number of wedding party, location where the bride will be getting ready, location where the groom will be getting ready. If you are using a wedding coordinator we would like their information as well so we can get some additional information on time table for the day.
Once we get a good idea of what you’re ultimate experience would be our photog’s will scout locations and making sure we can do our very best to make that your photographic reality.
Thirty days before your wedding we will have a short meeting to solidify plans for the big day. We’ll discuss the plan for photographs – decide what will work best for your day. This meeting should be short and simply a way to easy any bridal worries you may have.
If possible, I like to attend the rehearsal as to get an idea of your officiants style, get any limitations they may want to advise us of, understood before the big day.
Day of – we’ll capture the magic..
and with in 4 to 6 weeks you’ll see your happily ever after.
